About ECMTA

Egyptian Chapter Music Teacher Association (ECMTA) is the local chapter of the Illinois State Music Teachers National Association (ISMTA), which is affiliated with MTNA, the United States’ oldest professional music organization. The organization is dedicated to the professional development of music teachers.  ECMTA is open to all music educators in the Southern Illinois region. Current membership includes professional Classical Guitar, Flute, Piano, Violin, Viola, Voice, and Composition teachers.

Monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month from September through May at various venues in the region. Teachers have the opportunity to network and gain professional development through various organized programs.

Our students have various programs available for their musical development. Among these are AIM (an annual theory and performance exam), master classes, and ensemble performances.

MISSION STATEMENT

ECMTA’s mission is to promote growth and accomplishment through discussion, experimentation, and exchange of musical experiences.
